Our Partnership with The Verma Foundation
Natasha Verma, founder of The Verma Foundation, was diagnosed with Lymphoma at 23 years old. She then underwent chemotherapy and dealt with the strenuous side effects that come with it.
Through this process, she realized that there were no comfortable and realistic looking hair options for women battling cancer. The wigs she tried were incredible itchy on her sensitive and newly-bald head. Nothing looked real or natural either.
Through the “Put A Cap On Cancer” program, the Verma Foundation creates custom high-quality cap wigs at no cost for women and children fighting cancer and dealing with the emotional side effect of hair loss.
The caps Natasha created are unique because they are lined with an extremely soft lining, and real human hair is sew into the side of the caps. Creating a natural yet comfortable look.
Natasha approached A Line Boutique earlier this year to be a part of her special fashion show fundraising event.
We had the honor of styling five women who are all at different stages of treatment in A Line clothing to help them feel beautiful and confident on the runway.
At the end of the runway, the women took off their caps to show the reality of their cancer. This was an extremely emotional moment, and the crowd loudly cheered for them to show their support.
Clara, the young girl with them, is battling leukemia and preferred to keep her cap on. She is the brightest light and felt so beautiful all night at the fashion show.
