Women’s Empowerment Workshop

Hosted by A Line Boutique owner, Karmen Berentsen, at The Oxford Hotel in Denver, CO.

We are grateful to The Oxford Hotel for hosting Karmen’s Women’s Empowerment Workshop this week!

Karmen took lessons from her memoir, Learning to Fly, and created a meaningful workshop for all of the women who attended the event.

Workshop Template That Was Given to Each Atendee

We were all given the opportunity to write out the things that we feel we “should do”. These could be external societal pressures, tasks brought on by those around us, things that feel we feel that we should do to be productive, and more.

After writing our “should dos” and sharing them with the group, we then wrote out our “want to dos”. We looked inward to find the things that make us happy and that make us feel alive.

As a group, we shared the things that make us feel the most alive. We spoke about our passions, our hobbies, favorite memories, and more.

It was exciting to uncover the things that made each of us feel at peace as we we were all from different backgrounds and of different ages.

Sharing Ideas During the Workshop

Karmen also read passages from her book that paralleled the ideas that we were talking about in the workshop.

We learned from Karmen how to listen to our inner voices and how to prioritize the things that we crave in life in order to be fulfilled and happy.
